FAQ's SALTWATER FISH

Q.
Can I use regular table salt to make a saltwater aquarium?
A. No!! Table salt will NOT make a marine aquarium (well, at least with live fish)! Actual marine salt must be used to create a saltwater aquarium.

Q. How many fish can I have in my saltwater tank?
A. General rule: 1 fish for every five gallons of water. Example Given: 2 one-inch fish in a ten-gallon tank or 1 two-inch fish in a ten-gallon tank.

Q. What is the minimum tank size for saltwater?
A. When you are beginners with saltwater we recommend 30 to 50 gallons. But any tank, if properly maintained can be done.

Q. What is the best food for salt-water fish?
A. A variety of food is the key. A mix of frozen foods such as prime reef and formula two in combination with a good pellet like new life spectrum is great for most marine fish.

Q. What salinity or specific gravity should I keep my marine tank at?
A. A reef tank should be about 1.022 to 1.026, and fish only tanks can run as low as 1.017 up to 1.026.
